This was a gift for someone who talked to me about Ancient Egyptian religion, who is a direct descendant of pre-Ptolemy people. A koummya is a type of Arabic dagger that I find particularly beautiful. I’m drawn to the shapes and artistry — it feels to me like a blade that is designed to take a life should be given more reverence than any random tool, and the design and maintenance of it goes a long way toward that respect for life and death.
